The Texas Nationalist Movement had a strong presence at this weekend’s Come And Take It Festival in Gonzales. Volunteers were on-site to gather signatures for the TEXIT petition, an initiative aimed at securing a referendum on Texas independence. James Gilliam, District 18 Director for TNM, shared that the team collected a total of 544 signatures in just one day.

Gilliam highlighted the team effort that contributed to the day’s success. “First, thanks must go out to an amazing team,” he said. Among the volunteers, Gayle Wilkerson stood out for his ability to engage the crowd. According to Gilliam, Wilkerson’s skill in generating interest among festival-goers played a significant role in the number of signatures collected.

Other volunteers were also instrumental in the day’s efforts. David Nash committed to working all three days of the festival, while Sessie and Guy Franceschini, Rodney Roland, and Karl Gleim received praise for their contributions over the weekend. “Sessie and Guy Franceschini worked Saturday and did a solid job. Rodney Roland and Karl Gleim are working Saturday and Sunday and also did well,” Gilliam added.

The 544 signatures gathered at the festival indicate a positive community response and contribute to the growing support for the TEXIT petition. “We collected 544 signatures in one day in Gonzales,” Gilliam noted.

The successful outreach at the Come And Take It Festival shows the effectiveness of TNM’s volunteer-driven efforts. With a substantial number of new signatures, the organization continues its steady progress in advocating for Texas independence.
