Educate Yourself First

Knowledge is power, and the more informed you are about the Texit movement, the better you can advocate for it. Learn about the history of Texas, the reasons for seeking independence, and the potential benefits it could bring. Share this information with friends, family, and colleagues to raise awareness and grow the movement.

When you speak first without learning, you hurt the movement.  Be fluent in why Texas v. White and the US Civil War aren’t relevant.  Be familiar with the Texas legislative process and what it takes to get a referendum.  Be conversant about other independence movements worldwide.  “I don’t know” is sometimes an acceptable answer, but “I’ll find out and get back to you” is even better, and both are better than a misinformed response.

Engage in Conversations

Texit advocacy is an exercise of faith in Texas, and just like many other faith issues, the message of Texit is best spread from person to person.  The more people are talking about Texit, the shorter the timeline to its completion. 

Attend Events and Gatherings

Participate in Texit-related events, such as town hall meetings, rallies, and conferences. These gatherings provide opportunities to network with like-minded individuals, learn from experts, and show your support for the movement. By attending events, you can also demonstrate the strength and unity of the Texit community.

Join the Texas Nationalist Movement

Becoming a member of the TNM is one of the best ways to support the Texit movement. Did you know that the TNM has 468,000 supporters?  That’s more members than any other political organization in Texas!  Imagine the work that could be done if each of these supporters contributed fully of their time and financial resources.  Texit will happen, but it is the contributions of the membership that determine the timeline. 

Volunteer Your Time and Skills

Did you know that most of the advocacy for Texit is done by unpaid volunteers?  Consider using your skills and expertise to help with tasks such as event planning, graphic design, or content creation. Volunteering is an excellent way to contribute to the cause while also expanding your network and gaining valuable experience.  

Use Social Media to Spread the Word

Leverage your social media presence to raise awareness about Texit and share updates on the movement’s progress. By regularly posting content related to Texas independence, you can educate your followers and inspire them to join the cause. Be sure to engage with others on social media, answer questions, and address misconceptions to help grow the movement.

At the same time, there are social media errors to avoid if you want to help the cause of Texas independence.  Don’t get caught up in foolish arguments.  Don’t participate in discussions that promote violence, racism, or military activism.  Spend your time finding allies, not fighting with keyboard opponents.

Express your support for Texit by writing letters to the editors of local newspapers and online publications. A well-crafted letter can raise awareness about the movement, present compelling arguments for independence, and encourage others to get involved.
