How CIA and FBI Wikipedia Edits Manipulate the TEXIT Narrative

The digital landscape has increasingly become a battleground for information warfare, a reality that holds significant implications for movements like the Texas Nationalist Movement. A recent revelation by Larry Sanger has brought to light that Wikipedia, often considered a neutral source of information, is being manipulated by U.S. intelligence agencies. This is not merely a global issue but one that has direct repercussions for us in Texas, as evidenced by my own experience with Wikipedia’s “cancel culture.”

Wikipedia: A Tool for Information Warfare

Wikipedia, once considered a neutral and reliable source of information, has been compromised, according to its co-founder, Larry Sanger. Speaking on the ‘System Update’ podcast, Sanger lamented how Wikipedia has become an instrument of “control” in the hands of the left-liberal establishment, which disturbingly includes U.S. intelligence agencies like the CIA and FBI. “We do have evidence that, as early as 2008, CIA and FBI computers were used to edit Wikipedia,” Sanger revealed. “Do you think that they stopped doing that back then?”

This manipulation was first exposed by a programming student named Virgil Griffith in 2007. Griffith developed a program called WikiScanner that traced the location of computers used to edit Wikipedia articles. His findings were startling: CIA computers were used to remove casualty counts from the Iraq War, and an FBI machine was used to remove aerial and satellite images of the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. The CIA edited hundreds of articles, including entries on then-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, China’s nuclear program, and the Argentine navy. Some edits were more self-serving, with former CIA chief William Colby editing his own entry to expand his list of accomplishments.

Sanger further elaborated on the tactics used by intelligence agencies: “[The intelligence agencies] pay off the most influential people to push their agendas, which they’re already mostly in line with, or they just develop their own talent within the [intelligence] community, learn the Wikipedia game, and then push what they want to say with their own people.” He concluded by stating, “A great part of intelligence and information warfare is conducted online, on websites like Wikipedia.”

This revelation is not an isolated incident but part of a broader trend of weaponizing federal institutions for political outcomes. Earlier this year, it was revealed that social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Meta (formerly Facebook) have also colluded with U.S. intelligence agencies to remove content and influence public opinion.

Weaponization of Federal Institutions for Political Outcomes

The manipulation of Wikipedia by intelligence agencies is part of a broader trend of weaponizing federal institutions for political outcomes. This is not just about editing online articles; it’s about the strategic use of federal power to control the narrative and suppress dissenting voices. Intelligence agencies are not the only federal institutions that have been co-opted in this manner. This weaponization extends to other areas of government and is used to stifle movements and individuals who challenge the status quo, including those advocating for Texas independence.

Personal Experience: The Cancel Culture on Wikipedia

My own experience with Wikipedia serves as a microcosm of the larger issue at hand. After 25 years of advocating for Texas independence, I was finally granted a standalone entry on Wikipedia. However, within just six hours, there were attempts to remove this entry, which were ultimately successful. This isn’t just an isolated incident; it’s a glaring indication that the work we are doing is perceived as a legitimate threat by those who wish to suppress us.

The rapid attempt to remove my entry from Wikipedia is a stark reminder that the opposition’s primary strategy is to silence us. It also reveals the extent to which the political establishment is concerned about the growing influence of the Texas Nationalist Movement. They are willing to go to great lengths to suppress our message, including manipulating digital platforms that shape public opinion.

Implications for TEXIT and the Texas Nationalist Movement

The manipulation of Wikipedia by intelligence agencies and the cancel culture phenomena are interconnected issues that aim to control the narrative and suppress voices that challenge the status quo. This is especially concerning, given the current political climate. The political establishment and progressive groups are clearly concerned about the growing influence of the Texas Nationalist Movement. They will go to great lengths to suppress it, including manipulating digital platforms that shape public opinion.

The struggle for information is a pressing reality we are grappling with now. The compromised integrity of Wikipedia and the cancel culture targeting advocates like myself are symptomatic of a larger issue that threatens not just global discourse but the very cause of Texas independence. As we continue our efforts to secure a free and independent Texas, we must remain vigilant and proactive in the digital realm. Our right to be heard and to inform is under siege, and this is a battle we cannot afford to lose.
