In today’s episode, we are joined by Dr. Matt Qvortrup, a leading scholar of independence referendums worldwide. For the past three decades, he’s garnered the knowledge and experience to become single-handedly the most qualified person to take an ax to what TEXIT opponents think is the wooden stake in the heart of Texas independence: Texas v. White.
If you haven’t heard our episode on Texas v. White just yet, you can find it here!
He hasn’t started swinging yet, but Dr. Qvortrup does get into the nuts and bolts of TEXIT to answer questions like how important the TEXIT Petition is and what could happen if the result ends with a landslide victory. By giving us historical backgrounds on previous independence referendums of countries like Estonia and Malta, Dr. Qvortrup gives us hope.
It’s safe to say the will of the people always prevails.

We end this episode with some good old-fashioned Texas news, and there is no bigger story than the acquittal of Attorney General Ken Paxton.
It’s no surprise Paxton was acquitted. Why? Rather than doing their jobs, we had Texas House representatives hellbent on making a political statement with their entire slogan being “ready, fire, aim.”
It should come as no surprise that one of the representatives who cried the loudest was Jeff Leach, who has been virtually silent since.
Finally, we explain how State Representative John Lujan officially signed the TEXIT petition but claims it was just one HUGE mistake. It’s like he tripped and fell with a pen in his hand and accidentally scribbled his exact signature. Funny how that happens.
Instead of adding his voice to the growing list of legislators advocating for a statewide vote on Texas independence, John Lujan proved to be another politician who refuses to honor their word.
However, the best revenge against these incumbent officials is victory. By placing the TEXIT question on the primary ballot of 2024 and passing it, we can let all these state representatives know that where there is a will of the people, there is a way.
This is why getting more signatures for the TEXIT Petition is extremely important. If you haven’t signed yet, now is the time! You can sign by clicking here.
Furthermore, be sure to share the TEXIT Petition with everyone, friends and family.
