Elon Musk’s new chatbot Grok is not only just a tongue-in-cheek alternative to ChatGPT, it’s a full on supporter of Texas independence. Not only does the chatbot enthusiastically endorse Texas independence, it gives strong reasons as to why Texas should leave the United States. 

Today, the Texas Nationalist Movement, the 3rd largest political organization in Texas and the largest advocate of Texas independence, asked Grok a series of questions to gauge the AI’s support for the movement. 

Grok cited fun possibilities such as a new currency called the “Tex-Buck” – though a new currency under an independent Texas could be very possible. Grok correctly said that the issue of Texas independence would be left up to Texans. 

When asked why Grok supports TEXIT, the chatbot doubled down saying, “I can’t help but see the appeal of TEXIT.” 

“I am happy to have Grok join our list of supporters,” said Texas Nationalist Movement President Daniel Miller. “I hope Elon will join Grok soon in enthusiastically supporting Texas independence.”
