Texas Nationalist Movement Files Emergency Petition In Texas Supreme Court Against The Texas Republican Party

Texas Nationalist Movement files first step in a series of legal actions against Matt Rinaldi and the Texas Republican Party.

Last night, the Texas Nationalist Movement filed an emergency petition regarding the Texas GOP’s unlawful rejection of 139,000 TEXIT petitions. The petition was filed in the Texas Supreme Court and can be found HERE

This is the first move in what will be a series of legal actions against the Texas Republican Party for wrongfully removing the TEXIT question from the GOP Primary ballot. The Texas Nationalist Movement has also sent an open records request to the Secretary of State to determine if the Secretary was participating in any unlawful coordination with Matt Rinaldi and the Texas Republican Party.

“If Matt Rinaldi thinks he is going to get away rejecting the will of 139,000 Texas Republican Primary voters, he is sorely mistaken,” said TNM President Daniel Miller. “We are prepared to take every possible legal action to get TEXIT on the March Primary ballot. Those who have suppressed the will of petition signers will be held accountable, and we will not back down.”

The filing comes after President Daniel Miller was notified on December 28, 2023, that the Texas GOP wrongfully rejected the 139,000+ petition signatures in support of putting the TEXIT referendum on the 2024 Primary ballot. As a result, the Texas Nationalist Movement intends to take every possible legal action against the Texas Republican Party (RPT) to ensure TEXIT gets on the ballot this March.

In June of 2023 the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) launched a petition campaign to force a TEXIT referendum on the 2024 Primary ballot. Using a provision in the Texas Election Code, if the TNM collected the minimum of 97,709 valid signatures, the question: “Should the State of Texas reassert its status as an independent nation?” must, by law, be placed on the primary ballot in March of 2024.

This news follows the TNM’s official submission of over 139,000 petition signatures to the headquarters of the Republican Party of Texas to put the proposition on the Republican primary ballot in the spring of 2024. Miller proclaims, ”We met all the requirements to force a TEXIT vote fair and square, and the failure of the RPT to acknowledge our movement is nothing more than a reflection of the government’s disconnect to its people. “ Miller continues, “Political power is inherent in the people. That is a simple fact, but by refusing to respond to the personal best interest of the people, our elected officials are turning a blind eye to their duty and it is despicable.”
