What the Trump vs. Harris Presidential Race Means for TEXIT

In the past 72 hours, I’ve been asked 17 times what I think will happen in the upcoming Trump vs. Harris presidential race and how it will impact Texit. Here’s the blunt truth: regardless of who wins, the fundamental problem for Texas remains the same—the federal government is broken, and no single president, whether Trump or Harris, can fix it. Why? Because the real power in Washington doesn’t lie in the hands of the president—it lies with the 2.5 million unelected bureaucrats who aren’t on the ballot.

These bureaucrats, the so-called “bureaucrat class,” have entrenched themselves so deeply in Washington’s power structure that they operate independently of the president, Congress, or even the will of the people. This was painfully clear during Trump’s previous administration, where attempts to curb federal overreach were actively undermined by the very bureaucracy he sought to reform. For Texans, this means that no matter who wins in 2024, the federal machine will keep grinding away at our liberties, our economy, and our right to self-governance. That’s why Texit isn’t just an option—it’s a necessity.

The Bureaucrat Class: Washington’s True Power

The Trump administration exposed something that has long been suspected: the president is not truly in control. During his time in office, Trump pushed hard to reduce federal regulations, cut bureaucracy, and return power to the states. But time and again, his efforts were thwarted—not by Congress or the courts, but by the unelected bureaucrats embedded in federal agencies. These individuals are not accountable to the American people, and they certainly aren’t accountable to Texans.

From day one, Trump’s efforts to curb the federal government’s power were met with internal resistance. Bureaucrats within key departments, from the EPA to the DOJ, actively conspired to stop him. Leaked memos, anonymous resistance movements within agencies, and slow-walking reforms were all part of a concerted effort to preserve their power. It didn’t matter that Trump had been elected with a mandate to roll back federal overreach—these bureaucrats weren’t having it.

And guess what? They’re still there. Whether it’s Trump, Harris, or anyone else in the White House, the bureaucrat class will continue to hold the real power in Washington. These federal employees don’t leave when administrations change. They stay. They continue to shape policy, regulate industries, and interfere with states like Texas. This is why no matter who wins the next election, Texas will still be stuck dealing with the same overbearing federal government unless we choose a different path.

Trump or Harris: Same Problem for Texas

If Trump wins, we can expect more of the same: a president trying to rein in the federal government but facing resistance at every turn from entrenched bureaucrats. While Trump may succeed in making some changes, the core problem remains—Texas will still be subject to a bloated federal system run by people we didn’t elect and who don’t care about our values or way of life.

If Harris wins, the situation only gets worse for Texas. Harris will likely accelerate the expansion of federal power, pushing for more regulations, more mandates, and more central control over areas that should be left to the states. Under her administration, Texans can expect even more interference from Washington, from how we manage our natural resources to how we run our schools and healthcare.

The bottom line is this: whether it’s Trump or Harris, the unelected bureaucrats remain, and so does the federal overreach. Texans will still be forced to send billions of dollars to Washington each year, only to see those dollars mismanaged by bureaucrats who don’t understand or care about Texas. This is why the 2024 election is a distraction from the real issue—Texas needs to take control of its own future through Texit.

Texit Is The Only Solution For True Self-Governance

When people ask me how a Trump or Harris presidency will affect Texit, my response is simple: it won’t. Texit isn’t dependent on who’s sitting in the Oval Office because Texit is about reclaiming Texas’ sovereignty from a system that is fundamentally broken. We’ve seen through multiple administrations that the federal government cannot and will not change. The bureaucrats who control it are too deeply entrenched, too protected by their own layers of red tape, and too unwilling to cede any power back to the people.

Texit is the only real solution. It’s the only way Texans can truly govern themselves, free from the interference of Washington’s bureaucratic machine. Texas is the 9th largest economy in the world. We’re home to vast natural resources, innovative industries, and a fiercely independent population. We don’t need Washington to tell us how to run our state—we’re more than capable of doing that ourselves.

By pursuing Texit, we can ensure that decisions about Texas are made by Texans. We can stop being subjected to the whims of unelected bureaucrats and start building a future that reflects our values, our needs, and our vision for the future.

The 2024 Election is a Reminder, Not a Solution

As the Trump vs. Harris race heats up, there will be no shortage of campaign promises, fiery debates, and bold visions for the future of the country. But for Texans, the 2024 election should serve as a reminder, not a solution. It’s a reminder that Washington is broken beyond repair, and no matter who wins, the fundamental problems facing Texas won’t change.

Texit is not about rejecting one party or supporting another. It’s about rejecting a federal system that has failed Texans for far too long. It’s about recognizing that the real power in Washington isn’t in the hands of the president—it’s in the hands of unelected bureaucrats who don’t answer to the people. That’s why no matter who wins in 2024, Texit will remain the most viable and necessary option for Texas.

The Bureaucrat Class Will Always Resist Change—Texans Shouldn’t Have To

The bureaucrat class in Washington is more interested in preserving its own power than serving the American people, and that won’t change no matter who’s president. Trump tried to rein them in, and they fought back at every turn. Harris would likely embrace and empower them further. But Texans deserve better than being at the mercy of a distant, unaccountable bureaucracy.

Texit is the way we take back control. It’s how we ensure that the people making decisions for Texas are accountable to Texans—not to a faceless, entrenched bureaucracy in Washington. We’ve seen what happens when presidents try to reform the system, and we know how it will play out. The bureaucracy will fight to protect itself, and the needs of Texans will continue to be ignored.

Texans, it’s time to face reality. The 2024 election won’t fix what’s broken in Washington. But Texit can. The unelected bureaucrats who conspired to stop Trump will still be there, no matter who’s in office. But with Texit, they won’t have control over Texas any longer.

The choice is clear. It’s time for Texans to govern Texas. Texit is how we get there.
