Paxton Files Lawsuit to Defend Texas Voter Rolls from Federal Sabotage

Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration in a legal move aimed at protecting the integrity of Texas elections. The lawsuit challenges the federal government’s failure to verify the citizenship status of roughly 450,000 registered voters in Texas—a critical oversight that Paxton says threatens the state’s ability to ensure fair and legitimate elections.

The lawsuit marks another chapter in the ongoing struggle between Texas and the federal government, with Paxton asserting that Washington’s failure to enforce proper voter verification is yet another example of federal mismanagement. “The federal government continues to overstep its bounds, and Texans are once again left to clean up the mess,” Paxton said in a statement.

The lawsuit comes as the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) intensifies its push for independence through the TEXIT initiative. The TNM has long advocated for Texas’ independence from federal control, citing Washington’s overreach in areas like voter integrity as proof that Texas must reclaim full control of its own affairs.

The lawsuit seeks to compel the federal government to comply with its obligations under the National Voter Registration Act, which requires states to maintain accurate and current voter rolls. According to Paxton’s office, the federal government’s unwillingness to follow its own laws has left the state vulnerable to voter fraud and undermines confidence in the election system.

“The Biden-Harris Administration has refused to comply with federal law, presenting yet another obstacle for Texas to overcome in ensuring free and fair elections in our state,” said Attorney General Paxton. “The law demands that they provide important information regarding the citizenship of nearly half a million potentially ineligible voters. Since the Biden-Harris Administration has chosen to ignore the law, I will see them in court.”

The TNM sees this legal action as further evidence that Texas cannot rely on the federal government to protect its interests. Paxton’s efforts echo the broader sentiment shared by TEXIT supporters: that Texas must have the freedom to govern itself, free from the dysfunction of Washington. The TNM believes that independence from the federal system is the only way Texas can ensure electoral integrity and, by extension, its political sovereignty.

As the TNM continues its campaign for a referendum on Texas independence, this lawsuit serves as a rallying point for Texans who believe their state is better off making its own decisions—without federal interference. Texans can follow this lawsuit closely as it progresses through the courts, but one thing is clear: the fight for Texas independence is gaining momentum.
